2027 Dodge Durango: What Changed, What Stayed, and What It Costs

McHenry County families hauling kids, gear, and a trailer can do it all in a Durango, and for 2027 every trim has a HEMI V8.

The 2027 Dodge Durango keeps the three-row SUV shape it has had for years and changes what sits under the hood. The 3.6L V6 is gone, so every Durango now has a HEMI V8 and standard all-wheel drive, the R/T 392 gains a new Plus model, and Dodge keeps adding colors and options as the year goes on. (The prices and details below reflect what Dodge had published in mid-October 2026; ask us to confirm the sticker on any specific Durango.) Here is what changed, what carried over, and what each trim costs.

2027 Dodge Durango Changes vs. 2026

The biggest change is under the hood. Dodge dropped the 295-horsepower V6 that was available on the 2026 GT, so every 2027 Durango uses a HEMI V8: the 5.7L HEMI in the GT HEMI, the 6.4L 392 HEMI in the R/T 392, and the supercharged 6.2L HEMI in the SRT Hellcat. All-wheel drive is now standard on every trim. The entry price rises from $38,995 for the 2026 V6 GT to $43,875 for the 2027 GT HEMI, both before destination, although the 2027 price now includes the V8 and all-wheel drive.

New for 2027, the R/T 392 gains a Plus model with Nappa leather, a power sunroof, heated and ventilated seats, and adaptive cruise control. The GT HEMI gets a Brass Monkey appearance package, the R/T 392 gets a Blacktop Redline package, and the SRT Hellcat Jailbreak adds a six-passenger seating option and two new forged wheel designs. Every 2027 Durango also gets a digital deadbolt security update that blocks unauthorized key pairing and key fob duplication, and the nine-speaker Alpine audio system replaces the old six-speaker system as the base setup.

Colors keep arriving too. Pitch Black launched with the model year, Redeye (borrowed from the Charger) and After Dark joined over the past few months, and Smokescreen was added on October 5, which brings the palette to ten colors. Redeye, After Dark, and Smokescreen cost $595 each. Stryker Purple, offered in 2026, is not on Dodge's 2027 color list.

What Stayed the Same

The Durango keeps its three-row layout, which seats up to seven (or six with second-row captain's chairs, and five in the SRT Hellcat), its 119.8-inch wheelbase, and its 10.1-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The 5.7L HEMI still makes 360 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque, the SRT Hellcat still makes 710 horsepower and 645 lb-ft, and the towing rating of up to 8,700 lbs, the highest in its segment according to Dodge, carries over.

2027 Dodge Durango Price by Trim

Prices below are Dodge's base MSRPs as of mid-October 2026, before the destination charge, taxes, and fees. Dodge has adjusted some prices since the lineup launched, so ask us to confirm the current figure on any specific Durango. The GT HEMI starts at $43,875, the GT HEMI Plus at $47,475, and the GT HEMI Premium at $50,475. The R/T 392 starts at $51,745, the R/T 392 Plus at $55,645, and the R/T 392 Premium at $58,345. The SRT Hellcat starts at $81,495, and the SRT Hellcat Jailbreak starts at $82,490, which includes the $995 Jailbreak package, before the options you choose.

Engines, Performance, and Fuel Economy

Three HEMI V8s cover the lineup, all paired with an 8-speed automatic. The 5.7L HEMI in the GT HEMI makes 360 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque and reaches 60 mph in about 6.2 seconds. The 6.4L 392 HEMI in the R/T 392 makes 475 horsepower and 470 lb-ft and reaches 60 in about 4.4 seconds. The supercharged 6.2L HEMI in the SRT Hellcat makes 710 horsepower and 645 lb-ft and reaches 60 in about 3.5 seconds (all acceleration times are Dodge's claims). Fuel economy is about 16 mpg combined for the GT HEMI, 15 for the R/T 392, and 13 for the SRT Hellcat. The 392 and Hellcat require premium fuel, while the 5.7L recommends 89 octane and accepts 87.

Towing and Capability

The best towing number depends on the build. The GT HEMI tows up to 7,200 lbs, and the optional Tow 'n Go package raises that to 8,700 lbs. The R/T 392 and SRT Hellcat are rated for up to 8,700 lbs as standard. The Plus and Premium models include the Trailer-tow Group IV, which adds an integrated trailer brake controller. Ground clearance is 7.8 inches on the GT HEMI and 8.0 inches on the R/T 392, the SRT Hellcat, and the GT HEMI with Tow 'n Go.

Packages and Personalization

The Brass Monkey package for the GT HEMI adds black 345 fender badges with brass tracers and 20-inch Brass Monkey wheels (20-by-10-inch forged wheels when paired with Tow 'n Go). The Blacktop Redline package for the R/T 392 adds forged Y-spoke wheels, optional Redline dual racing stripes, Crypto Sweep interior accents, and Nappa and suede performance seats. The Tow 'n Go package for the GT HEMI is the most capable option on the list: it raises towing to 8,700 lbs and adds Brembo brakes, adaptive damping, an electronic limited-slip rear axle, and wider fender flares.

Interior, Seating, and Cargo

The Durango seats up to seven in a 2/3/2 layout, and second-row captain's chairs make it a six-passenger vehicle on the Plus and Premium trims. Third-row legroom is 33.5 inches. Cargo space measures 17.2 cubic feet behind the third row, 43.3 cubic feet behind the second row, and 85.1 cubic feet with the rear seats folded.

Safety Features

Every 2027 Durango comes with airbags in all rows, Blind-spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Path detection, front and rear park assist, a backup camera, electronic stability control with trailer-sway control, and the new digital deadbolt security update. Adaptive cruise control with stop arrives on the Plus trims, and Advanced Brake Assist and Lane Departure Warning arrive on the GT HEMI Premium and on the R/T 392 Plus.

How the Durango Compares

Dodge says the Durango is the only three-row SUV in its segment with a V8 in every trim, and that its 8,700-lb towing rating is the highest in the segment. Most rivals use six-cylinder or turbo four-cylinder engines, so the trade-off is fuel economy, and the Durango's V8 sound and towing power are the reasons to choose it.
