2027 Jeep Grand Cherokee: What Changed, What Stayed, and What It Costs

McHenry County commuters and weekend adventurers share a favorite in the Grand Cherokee, and 2027 gives them ten trims to choose from.

The 2027 Jeep Grand Cherokee keeps the refreshed look and technology it picked up for 2026 and grows the lineup around it. Three trims join the family (the new Laredo Upland and the returning Trailhawk and Overland), the 4xe plug-in hybrid is gone, and the base Laredo gets a bigger touchscreen. (The prices and details below reflect what Jeep had published as of mid-October 2026; ask us to confirm the sticker on any specific Grand Cherokee.) Here is what changed, what carried over, and what each trim costs.

2027 Jeep Grand Cherokee Changes vs. 2026

The lineup is bigger. Jeep now offers ten Grand Cherokee trims: the Laredo, Laredo X, Laredo Altitude, Laredo Upland, Limited, Limited Altitude, Limited Reserve, Trailhawk, Overland, and Summit. The Laredo Upland is new, and the Trailhawk and Overland return after a one-year break, with Jeep listing both for late availability.

The Laredo Upland brings Trailhawk-inspired looks and gear at a lower price. It comes with 18-inch Trailhawk-inspired wheels wrapped in 265/60R18 all-terrain tires, a Trailhawk-inspired front fascia, Vapor Gray tow hooks, dark neutral gray exterior trim, and standard four-wheel drive, which is a $2,000 option on the Laredo, Laredo X, and Laredo Altitude.

Equipment moved up elsewhere too. The Laredo and Laredo X now come with a 10.1-inch Uconnect touchscreen (up from 8.4 inches) and a new 18-inch wheel design. The Limited adds a new 20-inch wheel design, a wireless charging pad, and rain-sensing wipers, and the Limited Reserve adds automatic power-folding mirrors. Kelley Blue Book also reports seven new exterior colors.

The powertrain lineup changed as well. The 4xe plug-in hybrid is gone, so every 2027 Grand Cherokee uses a gas engine: the 3.6L V6 is standard on the Laredo and Laredo X, and the 2.0L Hurricane 4 turbo is standard from the Laredo Altitude up.

What Stayed the Same

Jeep did not redesign the Grand Cherokee for 2027. It carries over the styling refresh from 2026, including the updated seven-slot grille with light-up styling and thin LED daytime running lights, along with the refreshed interior technology, which includes an optional 10.25-inch front passenger screen and an available 19-speaker McIntosh audio system. The 2.0L Hurricane 4 still makes 324 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque, the 3.6L V6 still makes 293 horsepower, and the Grand Cherokee is still built at Stellantis' Detroit Assembly Complex in Michigan.

2027 Jeep Grand Cherokee Price

Prices below are Jeep's starting MSRPs for the two-row Grand Cherokee as listed on Jeep's website in mid-October 2026, before the destination charge, taxes, and fees. With two-wheel drive, the Laredo starts at $39,730, the Laredo X at $42,225, the Laredo Altitude at $45,170, and the Limited at $45,130. Four-wheel drive adds $2,000 to each of those trims, which makes the starting prices $41,730, $44,225, $47,170, and $47,130. The Limited Reserve starts at $52,725, the Trailhawk at $53,625, and the Summit at $61,130, and those three come only with four-wheel drive. Ask us for current pricing on the Laredo Upland, Limited Altitude, and Overland, and for the three-row Grand Cherokee L. Starting prices do not include options, so many vehicles on our lots cost more.

Engines, Performance, and Fuel Economy

Two gas engines power the 2027 Grand Cherokee. The 3.6L Pentastar V6 makes 293 horsepower and is standard on the Laredo and Laredo X. The 2.0L Hurricane 4 turbo makes 324 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque and is standard on the Laredo Altitude and every trim above it, including the Laredo Upland, Trailhawk, and Overland. Cars.com lists the two-wheel-drive V6 Laredo at 19 city, 26 highway, and 22 combined mpg, so check the window sticker for the turbo four and for four-wheel-drive models.

Towing and Off-Road Capability

The Trailhawk and Overland are rated to tow up to 6,200 lbs, and towing varies by trim and engine, so ask us for the rating on a specific Grand Cherokee. The Trailhawk is the dedicated off-road trim. It is Trail Rated, with Quadra-Lift air suspension, Quadra-Trac II four-wheel drive, a rear electronic limited-slip differential, Selec-Terrain with a Rock mode, six skid plates, and up to 11.4 inches of ground clearance. The Trailhawk is offered on the two-row Grand Cherokee only.

2027 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trims

The Laredo (from $39,730 with two-wheel drive or $41,730 with four-wheel drive) is the entry point, with the 3.6L V6, the new 10.1-inch touchscreen, and a new 18-inch wheel design. The Laredo X (from $42,225 with two-wheel drive or $44,225 with four-wheel drive) steps up the styling with the same engine, and the Laredo Altitude (from $45,170 with two-wheel drive or $47,170 with four-wheel drive) is where the 2.0L turbo becomes standard. The Laredo Upland adds the all-terrain look and gear described above.

The Limited (from $45,130 with two-wheel drive or $47,130 with four-wheel drive) moves into a more upscale cabin, with a new 20-inch wheel design, a wireless charging pad, and rain-sensing wipers. The Limited Altitude sits between the Limited and the Limited Reserve, and the Limited Reserve (from $52,725, four-wheel drive only) adds automatic power-folding mirrors. The Summit (from $61,130, four-wheel drive only) tops the lineup for technology and audio.

The Trailhawk (from $53,625, four-wheel drive only) is the most capable Grand Cherokee Jeep builds. The Overland is the upscale off-road model, marking 25 years of the Overland name, with a more aggressive front end, bright tow hooks, painted black lower bodywork, 21-inch machine-faced wheels with mid-gloss Granite Crystal pockets, a body-color painted roof, and Silver Silk exterior accents.

Grand Cherokee vs. Grand Cherokee L

The Grand Cherokee comes in two bodies. The standard two-row Grand Cherokee seats five, and the longer Grand Cherokee L adds a third row and is offered in most of the same trims (the Trailhawk is two-row only). Ask us for Grand Cherokee L pricing and availability.

Interior and Technology

The Laredo and Laredo X get a standard 10.1-inch Uconnect touchscreen for 2027. Higher trims continue with the technology from the 2026 refresh, including an optional 10.25-inch front passenger screen and an available McIntosh audio system with 19 speakers, and the Limited adds a wireless charging pad.
